I(TS)-1OFUN(D)
I(TS)-1OFUN(D), read as “it so fun”, is an annual event – backed by Isomorphic Topology – that embraces the multi-dimensional aspects of art of the hosting country. We host discussion forums that bring together artists from all over the world to share their expertise and experience on their creative medium. Most importantly, we aim to fund experienced and emerging artists through projects and contests, building a sustainable system for future creatives.
the discussion
We mainly conduct our “artist” discussion forums in the form of playful yet insightful interviews. The discussion currently consists 3 distinct artistic variables – ‘State-of-the-Art’ artists are our creative experimentalists, ‘Work-of-the-Art’ artists are our industry-based designers, and ‘Sense-of-the-Art’ artists are our thematic talents.
State-of-the-Art
We invite experimentalists with strong artistic presence and social influence to discuss about the moments they found their own breakthroughs, allowing their creative virtues to be resonated across multiple artistic mediums. Whether it’s a journalist conveying his opinion through a fashion statement or a pianist directing her player piano at a musical showcase, we see endless possibilities for multiple creative dimensions culminating into newer “hyperplanes”.
Work-of-the-Art
We tend to easily overlook the principles and intents in great billboard designs from large corporations. That’s because “artists” behind these masterpieces had integrate them so effortlessly to naturally serve our own satisfaction. But it’s more than just billboards, it’s a network of creative signals that corporate “artists” use to effectively promote their products to customers. We invite these individuals to share their behind-the-scene works that bring these creations to the public.
Wisdom-of-the-Art
Across generations, artists draw inspiration from one another and transform it into something uniquely their own. Through this series, we invite both the “artists of artists” and younger voices to share the wisdom, ideas, methods, and perspectives that shape their practice and influence the evolution of their medium. From musicians redefining contemporary sound to directors opening new possibilities in storytelling, we want to hear the insights, visions, and experiences that carry creativity from one generation to the next.
Sense-of-the-Art
We are reaching out to seasoned creatives who deeply resonate with our vision. They have successfully paved their own path and direction in their highly respected medium. Our current 6 mediums include writing, visual+object, performance, screen+narrative, digital, and style+application, expanding our definition of ‘art’ as much as we can draw it out to be. We invite them to join and support us in sharing their own CRAFTS, and discussing their own perspectives on our annual artistic theme.
The Fund
Isomorphic Topology has a rather modest goal – raise capital that directly funds local artists, giving them not just exposure, but real financial support to keep creating. Too many talented artists in our community are forced to walk away from their work, not because of a lack of skill or vision, but because there isn’t a sustainable system backing them. We aim to fund several projects for artists to write their scripts, source their fabrics, host their playhouse, and many more. To add some fun twists, we host short contests where invited rising artists will play a series of (very challenging) games to win monetary prizes. As much as we want it to be a competition, we guarantee that all participants will walk away with cash to support them in their next artistic endeavor.
